David Denton

David Denton has experience in complex commercial litigation and eminent domain. Mr. Denton represents condemning authorities, landowners, and easement holders in condemnation proceedings and easement disputes. Mr. Denton recently handled several temporary restraining orders for surveying purposes on a large pipeline project in South Texas.

Before joining RMO, Mr. Denton was a business litigator at the largest law firm in South Texas, where he counseled clients at all stages of the litigation process. Mr. Denton has handled disputes arising from breaches of contract, corporate and partnership control contests, commercial leases, the placement of securities, product defect and warranty issues, and ownership rights in a rural county road. He has successfully defended companies and individuals against claims of negligence, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference, deceptive trade practices, and fraudulent transfer of assets, among other business torts.

Mr. Denton has particular experience defending insurance carriers and adjusters in coverage and bad faith lawsuits arising from first-party life and property insurance claims and ERISA disability claims, and has represented both liability insurers and corporate insureds in third-party disputes involving the duties to defend and indemnify.
